About Author

When I was 20, I made what seemed like an insane decision: I dropped out of university in Novosibirsk, Siberia, and moved to Berlin with nothing but determination and terrible German.

I learned the language the hard way – by showing up, working, connecting, and making plenty of mistakes along the way. Eventually, I got into a German university and spent the next decade building a career in EdTech, specializing in UX research and research operations.

Things I LOVE about Berlin.

Things I LOVE about Berlin.
Every time I come back to Berlin after travel I see what I've missed so so much.

1. Berlin style. From glamour to famous Berlin-pyjama style. I know that my questionable fashion choices like leopard leggings, red oversized shirt, docs and leather jacket will be met with indifference.

2. DM and Rossmann. Jee, the amount of affordable, bio, no bullshit products is something I miss when I'm away. You can get them outside of Germany, but you pay double because good products are delivered from elsewhere.

3. You have 2 to 3 founder and other events competing per evening. Don't forget the urban sports club, too. And food from all over the world. FOMO is real.

We Berliners tend to take many things for granted, you know.
