Some LinkedIn updates feel like the end of the era

After ding some strategy work, publishing on LinkedIn and seeing some of the followers go, again, I found myself in the moment of clarity.

I help immigrants and expats transform their careers when they move to Western countries.

It is broad enough for me to figure this out further, but narrow enough for me to have a direction.

I write from and for a FLINTA perspective. This is important and even though Post-Soviel and Eastern European does not usually praise this type of diversity, this is what I will stand for.

You will see a lot of unpolished reflections, authentic thoughts – you might find some of it unprofessional. I am here to normalise the messy middle and I stand here as who I am. I experiment and do not sugar coat.

This was important for me to say because I want for people who follow and subscribe to have the right expectations. I write about things as they are. If they suck – I will not make them look prettier.

You will not see AI-written posts, celebratory overpolished content, the usual LinkedIn growth strategies, purely strategic sharing.

The hyped content and the success stories is cool and makes you look cool – it is however my absolute nemesis. By complying to this we all choose to read content that makes us feel bad about ourselves. I want people to feel good and to normalise the mess, the uncertainty, the uncomfortable feelings.

I also have a startup in the area of authenticity & trust, which is dormant while I’m searching for a team. Do reach out if you want to talk about it.

I left it there – because I would really, really, love to build a great solution that protects authenticity on the internet. That prevents deepfakes from misinformation. That enables remote work and trust. The truth is – if I wanted to execute it on my own, I would have worked myself into the abyss. Not my intention. If you are reading this and can see yourself building it with me – reach out.

Today is also the day when I created a company page in LinkedIn and updated my page. I did not notify my network. I will be launching my LayOff survival guide in Germany tomorrow. It is terrifying enough int terms of visibility.

Toi toi toi. This showing up consistently thing really works, hey!
