When does it finally click? 

It is curious that so much information I’ve consumed before never landed. 

Some classical novels I’ve read in my teens, all the enlightening truths about being in charge of your life and true presence in the moment. 

All this stuff about being in charge of your own life, your own actions, your own reactions – we’ve all read it a million times, in one way or another. It’s like the new religion. 

And yet I’ve experienced people who are deeply asleep spiritually who nodded and cited all the right things, like “Stay present, live in the moment”. 

And until fairly recent, for me, it has never landed. Not truly. 

It has been a slow process – firstly stopping drinking and smoking, making being present possible at all. When you don’t control your drinking – chances are you can control your emotions are very low. Then all the right books. Right experiences. Brave decision followed by actions. Right people. When the teachings are penetrating your life – it is beautiful and never ending. 

And then there is this leadership thing. That starts from the head. With you, daily, making the right decisions on what to think about, what to consume, whom to meet, and most importantly, what not to do and whom not to meet. 

Written words are worth nothing until they land in the right moment, right circumstances and the right timing.
